Most people have one big flaw in their plan to get in shape - they will not stick to it long term. Sure, for a few months, they hit the gym and even enjoy it to begin with. It seems to be going well, and they are putting on muscle and taking off the fat. How many of them are still in the gym six months later? I can tell you, it is very few. The problem is that going to the gym takes time, money and commitment.

The problem

Life is busy, and time is a valuable commodity these days. By the time you journey to the gym, workout, and journey back it has taken a fair bit of your day. Not to mention, that having to actually go there gives us many excuses to break our gym 'routine'. It's raining. I left my kit at home. I haven't really got time today...The problem is, that once you break that routine, it can be very hard to get back into it. Sometimes a trip to the pub after work sounds more appealing than a trip to the gym, and then bam! The routine is done for. Build Muscle Gym

The solution

The solution is simple - and cheap. Working out at home has given me the body the gym never managed to. And if your home is where you work out, you have no excuses. Do you actually need to be in the gym to exercise? Sure, they have a lot of equipment, but have you ever looked at the enormous range of exercises you can do with a simple set of dumbbells? You do not need very much equipment at all to get in the best shape of your life.

I leave my dumbbells where I can see them. And I tell myself this one simple thing - if all I do today is one set, I have achieved something. I don't try to force myself to stick to a plan, I just commit to doing something, however small, every time I think of it. And do you know what? I more often than not, by the end of the day I have ended up doing a good workout. A set here, a set there. It all adds up! And it works for anything. So another example, I do pull ups whenever I go through my bathroom door, as it has a good frame for supporting me. I say "I will do at least one pull up every time", but because I don't feel forced, I always do more!

Of course this is only going to build muscle, and if you want to look ripped then there has to be a diet aspect to your lifestyle as well. It is no good having great abs hiding underneath your beer belly! Build Muscle Gym
