Getting The Most Out Of Your Toning Equipment

Exercising at home to tone your muscles is easily achieved as you don’t necessarily need much equipment making it possible to complete a full body workout without having a great deal of space. In this article I will discuss different ways of toning your body at home.
The first thing you need to think about is finding a place to exercise. You don’t have to have a home gym to complete simple toning exercise, only a clear space in your living room is required. If you chose an area that is carpeted then that is a bonus as some exercises are done lying on the floor, if not then an exercise mat can be utilised.
The most basic exercises to begin toning your body are cardio based, especially if you have a lot of fat to shed. Cardio is great for burning fat and there are many cardio workouts available to buy on DVD. This is perfect if you’re working out in your living room where you can use your TV to play DVDs.
Another popular exercise done at home designed for toning is Pilates. It requires little toning equipment and is very effective for toning your body’s core. Pilates are notorious for strengthening and elongating the body. Pilates focus on specific areas using exercises that target different muscle groups and exercises that use the whole body creating a well balanced workout.
Bodyweight exercises are ideal for completing at home as you don’t need to use any toning equipment. They are very simple exercises purely using your own body to create resistance. Common bodyweight exercises include push-ups, press-ups, sit-ups, squats, lunges and core exercises, among many others. Circuit training using bodyweight exercises have been proven to be effective is great for toning your whole body by alternating different body part workouts.
Be sure to begin and end your home workouts with warm up and cool down periods. These can consist of stretching exercises, jogging in place, etc. Although it’s tempting to skip the warm up and cool down, they are vital to a safe toning workout. Best of all, they take very little space to perform.
It is really important to start and end your home workouts with a warm up; this can include a light cardio exercise a some stretching. Even though it can be a hassle to do a warm up it is vital especially if you are doing resistant training otherwise you’re leaving yourself vulnerable to getting an injury.
Whatever toning exercise you chose to perform the key is to do a routine that works for you. Doing a full body workout properly at least 3 days a week for 30 minutes will quickly show visible results by toning your body effectively. Not only will you look great you will feel much happier and relaxed mentally.
