Always keep your trampoline pads in good shape by knowing when to replace worn out ineffective pads. It is very important to not only make sure that your trampoline pad, but all trampoline parts are in proper shape before each use. The safety pad will protect the jumper from landing on the springs by cushioning the jumper during an uneventful landing towards the frame.
As you maintain your trampoline, you will find that the pad will need replacing every now and then. Check to see if the panels are separating or if the pad is dry, cracking, and ripping. These are obvious signs that the trampoline pads needs replacing.
To pick out the right pad for your trampoline, examine the owners manual for the model number and trampoline specifications. If you do not have the owner's manual, then examine the trampoline to see if it is equipped with an enclosure system. If there is an enclosure system and its frame goes through the pad, then you will need to take care to order a specific pad. If your trampoline enclosure system does not go through the safety pad, then you will be good to get a universal trampoline safety pad. A universal safety pad will ensure that you will have a proper fit around the trampoline parts if you have a trampoline that is any size between 12 ft. to 15 ft. in diameter.
Remember to take your time weighing the pros and cons of the different safety pads out there. There are many brands in the market, but the main differences between the different pads are thickness, width, and material.
Make sure that the pad is at least 3/4" thick where it covers the frame, and that it is wide enough to cover your springs. A 10.5" wide safety pad will allow the pad to cover 7" springs. The material, although not essential but quite important, will help determine how long your trampoline pad will last. Pads made of PVC will last longer when exposed to natural elements compared to pads made of PE.
