How to Use Outsourcing in Your Fitness Business

Fitness marketing strategies don't typically include outsourcing, but this is HUGE! Let me explain.

What is outsourcing?

Essentially, outsourcing involves paying other companies or individuals to take on the responsibility of completing certain tasks on your behalf. Why is outsourcing important?

Simply put, by outsourcing some of your work to others, you'll inevitably have more time to focus on the most important aspects of your business, without having to worry about the small, menial tasks. For example, if you own a fitness club, or you're a personal trainer, you can benefit immensely from outsourcing tasks such as billing, press releases, data entry, and etc.

Not only will outsourcing save you a considerable amount of time, but it will of course also end up saving you money. One of the most common questions concerning outsourcing is that many people doubt they'll manage to find others capable of working at a lower rate than what you believe your own time is worth. The answer to this question however can be found in several places.

Of course if you're searching for reliable fitness marketing strategies regarding outsourcing certain tasks, you'll no doubt be advised to visit websites such as guru.com, craigslist.com, elance.com, and naa.com. All of these can provide you with exceptional resources in terms of making your life a whole lot easier. However, I am a little hesitant to use some such sites in that I don't personally know the person that will be working for me. Listen to this smart way to delegate tasks.

I usually start by making a list of my past clients who wanted to continue personal training, but had to stop for financial reasons. I then go ahead and make them an offer, in that they can have full access to my services on condition they manage to complete a certain amount of work for me each week.

In most cases I try to single out stay-at- home mothers, particularly those who have their own part time, home based business. For the most part, these women are usually very intelligent and capable of delivering professional results.

In most cases I will have my assistants take care of things such as collecting addresses of local clubs, dealing with HR departments, and even creating advertisements and brochures. In fact, one of the mothers who I outsource to has had many years of experience as a graphic designer.

One important tip is that you pay attention to the following, if you wish to go down this road:

You should always use people who aren't willing to train with you if they are expected to pay. After all, using clients who have no problem paying to train with you more or less defeats the purpose. Secondly, you should only allow assistants to take part in group activities so that it doesn't cost you anything financially, bearing in mind that you'll be able to run a class irrespective of whether or not your assistants are present.

Additionally, if you're keen on using these fitness marketing strategies, then you should avoid letting too many people know that you're looking for an assistant. Instead, simply keep your ears of open and wait for someone to let on that even though they wish to continue training, they can no longer afford it financially. Next up, you need to try and determine what type of past experience your potential assistant has. This way you can personalize tasks for each person to play to their strengths and weaknesses.

As you can see, this type of outsourcing will not cost you anything, but at the same time, you'll have the advantage of being able to get more work done yourself, and of course you'll have more opportunity to focus on the most important factors of your business.
