Most skinny guys want to gain muscle but it is very hard for them to do so. They read through a lot of body building magazines and have gone through various body building programs which eventually didn't work even if they have followed all instructions down to the last detail. If you happen to be one of them, don't blame yourself because you have been misinformed.

In gaining muscle, skinny guys should follow a different set of methods and instructions because their metabolism is a lot faster than most guys. This means that skinny people gain muscle using a different set of work out and diet modification.

The first thing you need to learn before any muscle building workout is modify your diet since you will need to consume more calories, protein and carbohydrates than before. You need to do this in order to grow additional muscle so you can work on shaping them after wards (cutting back the fat). Here are a few great tips you can do in order gain muscle fast:

* Put more calories in your diet. As mentioned earlier your body type has a very fast metabolism rate. This means that you burn through calories which fuels your body fast. You will need a whole lot more if you want to have energy for muscle building. Without this extra energy your body does not build the muscle your have primed and your efforts go wasted.

* Modify your meal time in to 5-6 times a day instead of 3 big ones. This will ensure that you don't fall short of the calories you need to grow muscles as you will be fueled at all points in the day rather than in "spikes".

* Never neglect rest. Make sure that you get at least 8 hours of sleep each day. Rest plays a crucial role in muscle growth. As a matter of fact, you develop muscle as you sleep and not while working out. Your gym training is only there to instruct which part of your body you want to develop more muscle.
