Shoulders are a a part of the body that is often neglected. Who said abs, arms, firm thighs and bum are the only parts that make you look sexy? Ladies, don't be cheated. Same goes for men, there's more to a sexy body than the chest and biceps. You can have a pretty impressive general physique, but all this is greatly toned down if you have weak sagging shoulders. There are many who have lost body building competitions just because they failed to give their shoulders the attention they deserve. Sagging shoulders, believe it or not, add years to your body and you end up looking 10 years older than you actually are. Though the width of your shoulders depends largely on the length of your bones, developing your deltoids give your shoulders a broader appearance. Developing your shoulder muscles isn't done so that you look great and younger, these muscles are used in your everyday lives. From taking out the garbage, doing laundry, vacuuming and vacuuming the carpets to playing tennis, swimming and lifting weight in the gym. While it is important to work out and develop your shoulder muscles, it is also very important that you should work on your posture because no matter how massive your deltoids are, a slouch will cover it all up. Shrugs are important for working out the trapezius which in turn gives you that 10 years younger look. Let me give you an encouraging fact. The shoulders are the most responsive muscle to even the smallest amount of exercise. If you remain consistent, in a short while you'll burn all your shoulder pads. On the other hand, care must be taken because shoulder muscles are also the most susceptible to injury. This can only mean that you can't work these muscles out more than thrice a week. Ensure that you do the exercises with the right technique and your instructor should guide you especially if your a beginner. It is important that before you start lifting weights or ant other exercise, you have to warm-up thoroughly and also do some stretches. Taking 15 minutes to warm will determine whether you'll do a half hour exercise session, without injuries. Incase your shoulders are already experiencing some injury, take it easy and entirely keep off certain exercises. Your diet should reflect your ambition to pump more muscle. Proteins are a must and it is advisable to use protein supplements especially whey. This should however not be done at the expense of nicely grilled steak or fish. Don't neglect your whole meals. Carbohydrates and fats are also a necessary and important part of your nutrition. I cannot finish this without emphasizing on how important water is to you. So much so, such that the more you drink the better. Ensure that you get adequate, well deserved rest. My personal relaxation method is floating on my back in a swimming poll, staring at the sky or with my eyes closed. I won't do any kicking or swimming, just rest. Be consistent and patience will always pay.
